Script Excerpt
It is a bright and sunny day in the neighborhood! The birds are chirping, the clouds are floating, a laundromat stands left of center with a cafe, bookstore, and community garden. Above the storefronts is a floor of apartments and a sign for a psychic.
LIAM, a handsome young trans man walks towards the laundromat. He carries a basket filled with dirty clothes including HOODIE, a magically animate trans flag hoodie.
As Liam approaches the laundromat Hoodie perks up at the sight of Liam’s crush, LULU, a breathtaking young woman who is drawing in a sketchbook by the window. Hoodie grabs Liam’s attention. When Liam sees Lulu time literally slows down, we’re talking actual slow motion here, she becomes surrounded in pink light, hearts float in the background, do we hear fireworks? Or were those wedding bells? Liam’s eyes grow wide and sparkly, his smile grows wavy and silly, and his cheeks blush.
Lulu puts her hair behind her ear and it is the most captivating thing Liam has ever seen. Hoodie, in an attempt to help Liam out, decides to tap on the window. Startled, Lulu looks out the window, the music stops, the lights are fluorescent, she’s looking out the window where Liam was but he has VANISHED…

Pan left to reveal Liam PRESSED against the wall breathing heavily.
